BHKC Announce updated training protocol

Due to the COVID restrictions being eased across the country, we are pleased to announce that training will commence on Wednesday 14th April at St Andrews Hall (19:00 Juniors, 20:00 Adults). Training will also resume at Morland Community Hub on Sundays (10:00 Juniors, 11:00 Adults) from the 18th. Booking is essential and must be done through Sensei Nick Smith via WhatsApp/SMS.

The revised rules for the juniors are as follows:

  • Arrive on time dressed/in gi ready to train.

  • There will be someone at the signing in table for Track and Trace purposes and you may be asked to complete a Covid 19 questionnaire.

  • Your temperature will be taken with a no contact thermometer.

  • Endeavour to bring correct training fee. £4 under 16, £4.50 for seniors.

  • Use the sanitisation equipment at the entrance.

  • Barefoot training can resume.

  • You may wear a facemask if you wish. Please ensure that your facemask allows you breathe properly.

  • All adults wishing to watch must wear a facemask at all times.

  • Juniors are no longer required to remain socially distant from one another.

  • Kiai are now allowed again.

  • Spectators will be limited to allow for safe guarding only. Only one parent or guardian per student.

  • Time allowed for sanitisation between sessions.

For adult training, booking is essential as well, as we are currently restricted for dojo space. The added rules for adults are as follows:

  • Adults start back on a one-to-one (One instructor to one student) basis.

  • The pairs must remain socially distant from others by a 3m radius.

  • There can be multiple one-to-one groups, but no changes can be made of instructor or student mid-session.

The Official guidelines set out by EKF President Steve Coupland can be found below:

We can't wait to welcome you back to the dojo!
